Glass Hand

STATEMENT

Hi, I’m Peter and I’m a game designer. I’m looking for a job where I can express my creativity and gain more practical experience developing games. I offer unending creativity, passion for the field and a can do attitude.

I like making games as much as, and maybe more than, playing them. Creating games is my passion. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to make games. As a kid I used to spend my time making little platformers. The idea of making and sharing my own worlds always filled me with creative joy.

My motto is Games for Good. I want to create games that can teach people new things, heal wounds and

overall try and make the world a better place. Daydreams from the Spirited Sea is my first attempt at doing good by building confidence and self-esteem within players. This is based on my research in Game Design and Counselling.

SKILLS

Creative Design Skills  eg Even for challenging topics like creating a story game based on the barebones story of John Wick.

Time management / meeting deadlines – 3d/wk at college but met work deadlines from home; met all uni assessment deadlines even when working with a group; Haven’t missed a single session of two year D&D campaign.

Wide general knowledge - I believe a wide base of diverse knowledge is invaluable to any creative person. Therefore I do a lot of self study and have self educated myself on diverse topics such as entomology

Empathic / interpersonal skills: I’m good at listening and picking up body language. My friends and acquaintances say I’m kind and understanding. I’d also say I’m in touch with player needs and know how to design for them.

Artistic – When making my own games I create all the assets myself. Once even entered an international comic competition called the Tezuka award.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES & HOBBIES

Usual hyper fixations:

Game Design is kind of my life. Even outside of curricular work, I’m constantly working on something in my own time. I’ve built several TTRPGs, programmed an RPG in scratch, wrote stories, done art and am currently trying to make my own monster catcher RPG in Game Maker.

My other hobby is playing and running TTRPGs, which I’ve been doing for 7 years now and is itself kind of like game design. You collaborate with other players to flesh out a world and tell a fun story.

I also enjoy listening to video essays. I like to always be learning. I believe a good creative needs to take inspiration from as many different sources as possible.

Outside of games, I enjoy cooking. I’m not a big fan of following pre-written recipes, and have a tendency to test ideas as I go. Oftentimes this leads to delicious new deserts, but sometimes leaves me with liquid brownies that don’t set. However I never make the same mistake twice!
